Old Guardian by the Shore

I found this gnarled old tree standing sentinel over a quiet stretch of beach, a bicycle leaned against its trunk like it had been there for years — even the chickens wandering underneath seemed to belong to the scene. There was something timeless about the whole tableau, so I stripped away the color and let the light and shadow tell the story instead.
